About This Site

‘Good inspiration is based upon good information’
Russell M. Nelson

According to the General Handbook of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, those who are called to serve as leadership and in councils have been blessed with the the privilege of assisting in Heavenly Father’s work of “bring[ing] to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39).

Because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints functions in large measure because of the unpaid volunteer ministry of its members, this lay ministry is one of the Church’s most defining characteristics. (Lay Leadership: Volunteer Ministry of the Church, Church of Jesus Christ Newsroom. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/mormon-lay-ministry. Often times, those serving in positions of leadership and influence find their scope of duties to be broader than his/her personal and professional experience provides. The purpose of this webpage is to support those seeking assistance, in connection with online resources provided by the Church of Jesus Christ, with additional resources and information in ministering to God’s children. (See General Handbook reference below.)

As you scroll through this website, you will find various topics of interest. I invite you to return often. This endeavor is intended to be organic in nature. As you occasionally return to the site, you will find supplemental resources, articles, links and information will continue to be added.

GENERAL HANDBOOK

4. Leadership and Councils in the Church of Jesus Christ

Minister to All of God's Children

Jesus ministered personally to people, reaching out to lift and teach those who felt alone, hopeless, or lost. By His words and actions, He showed people that He loved them. He recognized the divine nature and eternal worth of each person.

Love the people you serve as Jesus did. Pray “with all the energy of heart” to be filled with His love (Moroni 7:48). Establish sincere friendships. Reach out to those who may be lonely, need comfort, or have other needs. Your love will bless their lives and help people desire to come unto Christ.

Help individuals deepen their conversion and strengthen their faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Help them prepare to make covenants as they receive their next ordinance. Encourage them to keep the covenants they have made and partake of the blessings of repentance. Help them know they can progress toward fulfilling their divine potential regardless of the challenges they face.
